CSKA defeated ZhFK Spartak and reached the quarterfinals of the Winline Russian Cup
Before the start of the meeting, the players of the WFC CSKA took to the field wearing T-shirts in support of the team's midfielder Margarita Chernomyrdina, who underwent knee surgery on Thursday.
Already in the third minute, army defender Yulia Pleshkova opened the scoring in the match after a cross from the red-blue striker Francisca Ordega. In the 34th minute, red-and-white defender Karina Baklanova, after a corner kick from CSKA midfielder Tatyana Petrova, sent the ball into the net of Elizaveta Shcherbakova's goal. Thus, the teams went to the break with the score 2:0 in favor of the guests.
In the second half, in the 56th minute, the main referee of the game, Alina Vakhrusheva, awarded a penalty kick to the goal of the WFC CSKA. However, the army goalkeeper Anastasia Ananyeva reflected the shot of the hosts' striker Natalya Mashina and preserved the team's advantage in the score. After 17 minutes, a penalty kick was awarded to the red and white goal. Red-blue midfielder Nadezhda Smirnova converted the penalty and brought the score to a devastating 3:0. Five minutes before the end of regular time in the second half, WFC Spartak midfielder Marina Fedorova scored a prestige goal.
The meeting ended with a score of 3:1. Maxim Yurievich Zinoviev’s team reached the quarterfinals of the tournament, where they will play against the WFC Krylya Sovetov.
